Brief Intro:
This video game that i am creating is a 2D Platformer game which is based on traversing through a level avoiding obstacles such as Spikes and Arrow Shooters. The goal is getting to the end of the level in which you collect a piece of food which gives you access to the next level.
Terrain:
The terrain for this game will vary due to there being many different levels each with their own environment. The first level is in a lab where the game will take place, this area will include very rigid looking structures as a real lab would. The rest of the levels are in natural environments such as forests and mountains, these areas will include more natural structures which lends itself to the environment that its in. These areas will include things like trees, hills and falling obstacles.
Architecture:
For the first level of this game there is a lab in which the player starts the game in, this lab is a large building and there is many obstacles in the player way. This lab features very rigid and man made structures such as many archways and platforms that are risen in the air.
Objects:
In this game there are objects which can either hinder the players progress or they can help the player progress throughout the levels. Objects that can help the player include power-ups such as the anti-gravity fruit, this special item only found in some levels lowers the gravity which helps the player make longer jumps that would be out of their reach otherwise, the effect from this fruit lasts until the player get the gravity fruit which normalises the gravity. An object that would harm the player would be a projectile that would shoot out of a trap/turret during the game, this would act as one of the obstacles in the level. These projectiles are fast arrows that knock out the player if they are hit by it, restarting the level.
Characters:
During the game there is only one character present which is the main character called Geroge, he is a monkey. His goal and the goal of the game is to progress through the levels to try and find the best food possible, his journey through various environments leads him to many different types of food but he is still unable to find the best. George can do many different things such as Run, Jump, Wall Jump and he can also jump in the air.
Feedback:
There will be feedback during the game which will encourage the player to keep on progressing through the game, feedback would include the ending of a level in which the main character is happy to get at the food thats been at the end of the level since the beginning.
