Tekken 3
Battlefield 1
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai

Tekken 3 is the third installment in the Tekken franchise of fighting games. Tekken is a 2D fighting game set in a 3D Environment which various characters each with unique fighting styles and a plethora of different moves and combos. This game uses the fighting system where each of the face buttons controls a limb of the character. what i like about this game is the varied character pool and the amount of moves and combos that you can figure out for yourself.

Battlefield 1 is a FPS game created by Dice

Dragon ball Z: budokai is a 2d fighting game base din a 3d environment made by Atari

For fighting games such as Tekken and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai the terrains has to be flat for each player to have a fair start with each other as odd terrain could lead to dysfunctional movement. Most fighting games like these have flat terrain but the surrounding area may have different terrains to make it look good. For terrain for Battlefield 1 its quite importand as this game allows for the player to change the terrains with destructible environments. There are many maps and various terrains that all of these games have such as deserts and towns.

This terrain is flat for the most equal fighting plane. Both characters are on the ground for the fight although flight is availiable so the players can fight in the air.

Like Budokai the fighting area is very flat although the background has rocks and trees but that is not the area the the players can fight in.

The Terrain in battlefield is vastly different as this game is fully 3d and it is a Shooter game, this game has lots of hills and rocks that act as barricades and obstacles that the player can pass through but it also acts as cover for the player when being shot.

Architecture:
The architecture for both Budokai and Tekken 3 are present but they are mostly just for show as the players only fight on or around buildings but there is never any interaction between them, although for Battlefield 1 there is a lot of interaction as most buildings have doors and shutters that the player cna open or close at will to shoot out of. Buildings in this game can also be blown up to destroy cover the the enemy may be hiding in.

Objects:
In fighting games there are not really any objects that are relevant as these games are focused of the players fighting skill although some games have power ups and things like that to enhance gameplay.
Objects are present in Battlefield as there are many that the player can use through each maps from Elite Classes which give you different guns and there are classes which you can put down objects that heal the friendly player sin the area. An example of this is the medic crate which heals friendlies in the area.

Characters:
Dragon Ball Z Budokai has a plethora of character that the player has access to, all of the characters in this game come from the Anime/Manga Series Dragon Ball Z. This game has 21 characters each which unique moves and looks, The main good guys in this series all have different playstyles and moves that the player can perform to deal massive damage to the enemy.

Tekken 3 also have many characters that the player can choose from and each has their own style of fighting from Mazhima Style Karate used by Heihachi to Yoshimitsu's Advanced Manji Ninja Arts. Each character looks vastly different as they all have different backgrounds, some normaks and some weird.

Battlefield 1 has lSess characters that the player cna choose from but there is alot more customization avaliable to the player from the guns look and the guns themselves. The player has a choice of Nationality of which they play but then they are locked to a map that only contains that nationality. The player can customize their guns to their likings as the game has lots of different guns to choose from. Guns also have skins that are unlocked through playing the game through battlepacks which has a random skin inside.

NPC's:
In the Battlefield 1 story mode there are NPC acting as your war buddies throughout the various battles that the player characters go through, there are some that are important to the story, so much so that if they were to die in the mission the player would have to start the mission again as it would be impossible to complete without that character.

Feedback:
During the game these give you certain types of feedback that the player can interpret, an example of feedback in modern games is the rumble function found in most video game controllers, this is used when the player it hit during a game and the pad will rumble which simulates damage inflicted to the player. Another type of feedback is the effects on the screen that tells the player if the player is damaged, an example of this is the game Call of Duty series blood splats of the screen which indicated that the player was shot.

Interface:
During most game there is an interface present in the game which helps the player by keeping track of things like Health and Ammo. Other things that can be on the interface can be the UI which the player interacts with, a game like this includes The Sims, this has the interface in which all of the buying mechanics in the game are handled. The game Super Mario 64 has an interface in which the core gameplay mechanics are handled, such as the interface telling the player how much health you have and how many stars you have collected.

Perspective:
In video games there are many types of perspectives that games are played in. Examples of different perspectives in Video Games include 2D, 3D, FPS(First Person Shooter), Isometric, Top Down. An example of a game using the 2D Perspective is Super Mario Brothers on NES (Nintendo Entertainment System), this game is a sidescrolling platformer game and the goal of the game is to maneuver your way through the level avoiding obstacles, since this is a 2D game the player can only move on 2 axis. This is good for this game as you can just concentrate on what is it front of you rather then everywhere around you in a 3D Space. An example of the 3D Perspective is Paper Mario, this game is an RPG with old school rpg elements such as encounters that send you to a separate scene and a levelling system. 3D is good for this game as it allows for the player to explore areas in 3D which allows for more creativity when creating levels, the 3D elements allows for the player to watch whats happening all around the player and it helps them avoid encounters my making their way around the enemies. FPS games now cover a large range on genres and an example of this perspective is Battlefield 1, this game is an FPS based in World War 1, its aim is to make the player feel like they are in the first world war with limited technology. The FPS perspective help achieve this as it makes the player feel like they are a soldier in a gunfight, the FPS perspective limits the players view to a point where they can only see whats in front of them. An example of the Isometric perspective is the game Sonic 3D Blast, this is a platformer released in the year 1996. During that time Isometric perspectives were the only way to get a 3D style game with the technology at that time. The isometric perspective gives the game a false 3D look and when released it was obvious that it was not a good sonic game and it wasnt a good 3d game either. The reasons for this is that the perspective made it hard for the player make precise jumps with the odd angle. Top Down perspective is games are generally used for the RTS genre and other like it, a game that uses this perspective is the Sims Game, this is a life simulation game for a character you create in the game. The top down perspective is used to give the player free reign over the characters house and lives and it makes the player feel like the god of this created world ad the player cna change anything about the house or the lives as they seem fit.

FMV (Full Motion Video):
FMV in video games have been around since the Sega CD in  1991, FMV was used in Sega CD games as the game, an FMV would play and then the player would have to choose what to to then the appropriate FMV would play depicting not he choice that was made, good or bad. This later evolved into Video Game Cutscenes often seen at the end of games as a reward. An example of FMV used in video games is the Tekken Series, upon beating arcade mode with a character the player is treated to a unique cutscene with the character they played. During the PS1 era 3D FMV was still new so the results were still not great.

Sports:
Sports game encompass a large part of the gaming industry as there are game for most sports out there although most are for the bigger sports such as Football, American Football, Basketball and other like that. Music in sports games would be high beat music to match the high pace action of the games such as football. Other games like Tony Hawk have music like Ska music such as Superman - Goldfinger

Simulation:
Simulation games aim to simulate real life or fantasy activities or events. Simulation games encompass a lot of the games released recently, games that are traditional simulation game are Euro Truck Simulator and The Sims although there are many "Parody" simulation games such as Surgeon Simulator and Goat Simulator.

Role Play:
D&D inspired rpgs, traditionally turn based fantasy games although there is variation. games These games are traditionally based on created characters and the main mechanic is the level up. Leveling up in these games often gives you access to various skills that you can choose from which allows for the player to choose how they play the game and how to proceed.

Viral Marketing:
videos that get people talking on social media, bad marketing results in more marketing but for the wrong reasons. An example of viral marketing is the Fallout Countdown Page that surface a few years ago, it was a single page website that only had a countdown and a representation of a Vault Door from the Fallout series. After the countdown had finished the only thing was revealed was a script throught to confirm a new Fallout Game. This gained a lot of attention and got a lot of people talking

Adventure:
The Adventure game genre is such a varied genre that there are so many games that fit into it and they are lots of sub-genres also. These games are generally about exploring an area that you can find many things in such as people, weapons and enemies. An example of a game like this is Fallout New Vegas, this game allows for the player to explore the huge world and it rewards you by hiding good weapons about so the player can find them.

Strategy:
first board game "senet" in egypt, chess dated back 1500 years, monopoly, chess, senet, old games. Modern strategy games include The Civilization series, this game focuses on progressing the world and discovering new things and developing new technology. The goal is to win the game by either eliminating the rest of the world for world domination or try and prosper with the rest of the countries with democracy.

Management:
Management games are games that are primarily played at a slow pace and methodical. The games are based on starting with a small amount of resources and slowly building them up. Examples of resources found in games like these are Gold/Money, Wood, Reputation and Staff. An example of a Management game is Rollercoaster Tycoon. This game is based of starting your own Theme Park with small attractions and slowly buyilding up your money to then build more attraction and then the cycle continues. You have to manage other resources also.

Action:
The Action Genre encompasses a large variety of games and its own sub-genres. The action games are based on the player performing multiple actions to progress the game. An example of an Action Game is the Tekken series, This is a sub-genre of the action genre which is fighting. The aim of the Tekken games is to beat you opponent by beating them up. You press the face buttons on the controller which corresponds to the limbs of the character, the ammount of action to play this game it very high as you have to be ready to press the right button at the right time or you risk being beat.

Puzzle:
The puzzle genre has been around since video game have been around, these games are based on being given a puzzle or a procedural generated field on which you have to figure out how to either complete the level or solve the puzzle. An example of a game which is a puzzle game is Tetris, This game is based on quickly placing falling block made up of 4 block each.

Educational:
Educational games have been around for a long time and they were at their height during the 90's. Every console had their own educational game each often wteaching the same things which are Numbers, Writing and Typing. An example of an Educational game is Mario Teaches Typing, The premise of this game is for kids to play this game and then learn hot to type with the help from mario. there are minigames which help teach different types of typing from the finding of the right keys to typing with a decent speed.
